So yesterday was our Independence Day. Josh and I didn't do much, a little bit of laundry- the dishes- but mostly just laid around the house watching movies and playing with his toys.
When it got dark outside, we heard the loud BOOM's of the nearby fireworks that the Broadmoor was putting on up the hill from us. They were so loud that my house shook and even my friend Becka could hear them on the webcam.
I took Josh outside to see them, and he automatically clutched onto me. With each boom, he held on tighter and tighter. We stood out there for a while, then came the grand finale.... oh boy. that made Josh a bit nervous.
The booms got louder and louder and closer together and the bright lights from the fireworks were almost constant. Finally, it just got to be too much for the poor guy and he started yelling at me.
"NO MORE FLOWERS, MOMMY!!! NO MORE! GO INSIDE!!! MOMMY, NO MORE FLOWERS!!!"
wouldn't ya know it... as soon as we got back inside- he asked to go back out...
...we stayed in. :)

That's so funny! And yes - they were VERY loud!
He does have a point. They do look like "flowers"
Bless his heart! How sweet is that! Next year will be better and he will have his strong daddy home to give him courage! Love you!
That's so funny! Sounds like Ethan. He kept saying "baby scared!" (he calls himself baby) LOL He wasn't really though, but he really acted like he was!
That is so funny he calls them flowers! So cute!! Because of people like his daddy we get to have our big fowers!!
awwwwww, that is just too cute! I was dealing with the same thing with Brooklyne, however, no words were said, just fingernails digging into my skin and shreeks of fright out of her mouth! lol
We had a day pretty much like you guys...The fireworks between the beaches and downtown were really loud and then we had dozens of neighbors shooting them off until after 1 a.m.... We watched them on PBS...just our speed !
