Miss Yer Face.

Tonight I had a wonderful surprise. I logged on to check my email, and saw that an email I had written to Tyler had been read, but there was no email back to me. Just for kicks, I logged into my MSN messenger to see if he was online because I missed an IM from him the other day-
HE WAS! Not only that, but he was on the ONE computer with a webcam!!! YAY!!!
I was so excited to see his face. He looks tired, worn out, and great all at the same time. Poor guy, it was 5am his time and he was just about to head out on an assignment. I'm about to go to bed.
I thought to snap some pictures before he logged off...

His eyes are closed in one picture, and he's not smiling in the other- oh well. You get the idea. He's working hard and he can't wait to get home- even if it isn't until next March.
He checks this blog every time he gets a chance to use a computer, so feel free to leave a comment for him. :) If you don't have a blogger ID, just sign your name.
Love you, Tyler!!! Miss Yer Face!!!

Lots of fun today!

We went to an emergency preparedness function sponsored by the church today. I'm not quite sure why there was a military vehicle and a helicopter there, but Josh sure loved it.
Some pictures-

Why'd the turtle cross the road?

Seriously- I've never seen anything like this! (but living in Colorado, that's to be expected...) Mom and I were driving to the mall today and all the sudden I hear, "Watch out, Turtle!" I finally saw him and swerved just enough to miss him! Scared the crap out of me!
Mom said it happens all the time around here- this must be their own way of playing Frogger. I know one thing, they aren't very good at it. Poor turtles...

...And don't even get me started on the Armadillo's...

What an obedient kid...

I was busy with something today and Josh was playing in the entry-way. I heard him playing with the door stop-springy thing, and after a couple minutes he walked over to me slowly with it in his hand...
He said, "Hey Mom, I broke it." and handed it to me. I looked at him with that sideways-mommy-look and said, "Joshy, were you playing with Nana's door stop and broke it?" He said, "Yeah." I told him that he needs to not play with Nana's things but I was glad he came to me and told me that he broke it, and that I would fix it for him.
I went over to the entry-way and screwed the door stop back into the wall, when I turned the corner to come into the living room- Josh was already in his "Time out spot" with both hands up on the wall and his forehead resting on his hands.
I couldn't help but grin when I saw this. He looked up at me with the corner of his eye and I said, "Are you in time out?" He nodded.
I got him out of time out and off he played.
What a good kid I've got.

Joshy and Nana

a picture, see previous post...

ISSCARY!!!

Translation? It's Scary! This is what I've been hearing all morning- It's hard to believe that yesterday was blue sky's and 80 degrees, and today we're getting dumped on with rain and every few seconds we hear crackles of thunder. (hence the "ISSCARY!!!" from Josh...)
Gotta Love Arkansas.
This picture is from when the storm first started- It's now raining SHEETS of water.

Great, now he keeps saying, "OH MY HECK! ISSCARY!!"
Ooop- and the TV just went out...
yeah, this is going to be a fun day. :)

I found Capital One's logo today...

Grrggg.... This company is driving me crazy.

Thank you, Andrew The Weg!!

So- my mom lost her cell phone somehow last night and before she left for work today, she took mine so she would have one while she was out and about today.

She called me in a panic just a little while ago and said, "You know- there's one way to really freak out your Mother..." I said, "Yes?" She said, "When your Mother takes your cell phone, make sure you're not expecting a phone call from the 'Gay and Lesbian Association'."

With this, I busted up laughing and explained that the entry "Gay and Lesbian Association" in my phone actually belongs to Andy, Tyler's best friend.... While he was in Colorado when Tyler was on R&R he got my cell phone and changed the name of his entry as a joke... I guess I never changed it back...

LOL Thanks for the giggle, Andy!!!

Poor Joshy!!

Joshy was having so much fun outside with his Nana, until he tripped and fell, and stubbed his toe. He probably should have been wearing shoes, but it's just so much fun feeling the grass on your bare feet! Oh well, live and learn.

Here he is, showing you his band-aid he got for his sore toe. We cleaned it really well- but he still thought a band-aid would make it feel better. :(

At this point, he was really done with me taking pictures-

All he wanted to do was lay down with Millie and watch SpongeBob SquarePants. ...I wonder what the world was like without SpongeBob.... I can't fathom it. He just makes everything better somehow.

We're having fun here in Arkansas. We're playing a lot outside because of the wonderful weather! it was 80 degrees today!! WAHOO!!! I forgot to put sunscreen on joshy yesterday so he got a little sun kissed on his nose and cheeks.... He's so cute.

I hope you're all doing well, and I'll post more later! :)

Nap time...

I think nap time is going to be the death of me today- He's so tired, it's obvious. His eyes are red, he's SUPER clumsy, and NOTHING makes him happy.. not even happy- I'd be thrilled with satisfied- or even content.

Seriously. Someone get this kid to lay down for 30 seconds, and he'd be out like a light.

wish me luck...

Finger, Finger, Finger, THUMB!

***Please don't watch with children***

My sister, Becky, taught Josh a new game- he wiggles his little fingers and says, "Finger" and then all the sudden he'll put his thumb up and yell, "THUMB!"

This is very cute and a great way of teaching, but there is one problem.... "Finger" doesn't actually come out.... let's say... "phonetically correct".

See for yourself.

When this happens, of course, I don't tell him he's actually saying a bad word- I just try to emphasize the INGER part... Hopefully he'll get it soon... in the mean time, it's a good reason for a giggle.

Here's another video I took while Tyler was home on Leave. Ty thinks it's hysterical too...

By the way, I'm not sure what the clicking is on the video- something with my camera I suppose... Also, I promise- I don't let my child run around the house with no pants on regularly... This must be some type of fluke that in both videos he's half nakie!!! ;)

What we've done all day...

I'll probably lose track of how many times we do this today... Josh sure loves his Daddy.

Horton Hears a Who!

Yesterday was a fun-filled day with my brother, Brian, and his family. We went to see Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who. This was the second time Josh and I have seen it, but I think he liked it better this time than the first. A lot of it had to do with his two cool cousins he got to sit next to.
We were the ONLY people in the theater, so I snapped a photo.

After the movie, we went next door to Cold Stone and got a treat- Too bad it was SNOWING outside!!! brrrr.....

Josh sure loves his cousins, Emma and Libby.

2 years old and kissing all the girls...

Last week we went to Parker for a friends birthday- and Josh made a new girlfriend...
Yes, that's lipstick on his cheek.

Haircut!!

At first he was very excited to get his haircut!

Afterwards, he wanted nothing to do with me...

Not too shabby, I say...
What a handsome boy!

Always makes me laugh!

This is a good friend of mine, Jason King. He's always trying stunts that typically go.... less than planned, but always turn out hysterical. Here he is trying to do a back flip while the missionaries video tape him on their P-Day. Feel free to re-play it over and over right as he hits the ground... for some reason it makes it funnier. :)

'Cause you know, everyone else is doing it...

Pachelbel Bedtime

My Dad sent this clip to me over a year ago- ever since, I watch it from time to time, thinking about my younger years with my two sisters... All three of us in one room- and inevitably keeping the whole household up WAY past our bedtime. Someday I hope to have the same experiences with my kids. HA! My poor Dad. :)

The Early Worm is for the Birds!

Anyone else feeling like this today??

Worlds Best Dad!

Joshua got a package in the mail today. We opened it up and inside was 4 books, and a DVD. I stuck the DVD in the player and up came a video of Tyler, reading one of the books to Joshua. (One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish)
Josh loved it. immediately, he ran to the TV and kept pointing saying, "DADDY! DADDY! DADDY!" I grabbed his blanket and asked if he wanted to cuddle while we watched- he just snatched the blanket out of my hands and laid down on the floor- right in front of the TV. He watched the whole thing.
Tyler sure does have a way about making me cry! On the video, when he was done reading the book, he talked directly to Joshy for a bit- telling him how much he loves him, then he spoke directly to me- saying the same. He's such an incredible Dad and husband.
I'm sure we'll get a ton of use out of that DVD while Tyler's gone.

AMAZING!!!

This should work now... Watch it, it's incredible. If it doesn't work, go to Youtube.com and search for Elephant paintings.

The love of his life, Beet-Bee.

As many know, Joshua is COMPLETELY in love with my sister, Becky. To Josh, she's known as "Auntie B" but he fondly refers to her as his "Beet-Bee".
The sun rises and sets around his Auntie B, he has pictures of her up on his wall that he talks to on a regular basis. Daily I hear, "Hey Mom- flsashambalscmowerbobo Beet-Bee???" Which is commonly translated as, "Where the heck is she?!?!?"

New-Normal.

It's been a couple days since we had to say goodbye to Tyler. That was terrible. Josh started acting out when he saw Tyler packing on Saturday night- then on Sunday he REFUSED to go to nursery, so he was in Sunday school with us, then we just decided to go home early. Sunday night, he just wouldn't go to bed. he just wanted to be with Tyler. He just followed him around all night. In hopes that any of us would get any sleep, at 11:30pm we gave in and let Josh sleep up in our room with us.
Throughout the night, I kept waking up- each time I did, Tyler was still awake, laying on his side- propping his head up with his hand. Just looking at me and Josh. He didn't sleep at all.
Monday morning, Josh didn't want to get in the car. He didn't even want to push the garage door button. He cried the whole time I was buckling him in his car seat.
Once we got the the airport, we were all crying. Since it was only 5am, it was still dark outside, and there was a dusting of snow falling. Tyler and I stood outside for a while, just hugging and shivering in the cold. After a couple minutes of us saying our goodbyes, he went over to Joshua's car door and opened it to give him a hug and kiss. It was the saddest thing I've ever seen. So much worse than last time, because Josh knows what's going on.
When Josh and I got back home, he started crying and pushing my hands away when I was trying to unbuckle him. This time, he didn't want to get OUT of the car. I finally got him inside and we just hugged and cried for a while. We eventually fell asleep on the couch for a few hours together.
Since then, things have been slowly getting back to 'normal'. Josh is so good about giving me much-needed hugs throughout the day. He's a big helper with laundry and dishes (or...making MORE work for me!) ;) I don't mind though- He loves to help his Mommy. He keeps asking for Daddy- but I make sure whenever he does, I get down on his level and explain that Daddy had to go to work, then we go look at the pictures of Tyler that are on Joshua's wall. Joshy's so sweet, he goes up to the pictures and kisses them. He really loves his Daddy.
Tyler called yesterday afternoon- it was about 2:30pm for me, and he said that he had just arrived in Kuwait and it was 11:30pm for him. He also told me that he wouldn't be getting back to Mosul until Noon today, so he's there by now for sure.
I can't wait for him to get home.
In hopes for some type of distraction from loneliness, Joshua and I booked a trip to Arkansas to stay with my parents for a while. We leave on the 18th and probably won't be back home until the end of May. While I'm there, I'll have my laptop and cell phone- so you can bet that I'll still be updating this thing with Joshua's hysterical videos and adorable pictures. It should make time go a bit faster.
That's it for me, I hope you're all doing well.
Kelly.
