late night adventures...

Last night Ty was packing up all his Army stuff to go on a training range with his company that started today.
Well- he's the type of crazy guy who actually packs WEIGHTS in his stuff so he can work out while he's at the range... weirdo.
Anyway.. Somehow last night while he was in the basement packing, he dropped a 45lb weight on his bare foot. smart..
Luckily, Becky was still awake and didn't mind having Joshy for a sleepover, while I took Ty to the hospital.
Some pictures. (really, did you expect any less?)
This is right after it happened, before we left for the hospital.

The Xray's came back and didn't show a break. seriously? The doctor also did an exam and determined that he didn't sever the tendons. Basically, he just has a really screwed up bruise. yuck.
Pictures from this morning... about 12 hours after the incident.

Silver lining? He didn't have to go to the range this morning. He still had to go in, or... I had to take him in at 4:30 (about 4 hours after we got home from the hospital) so he could show the first sgt and have him tell Ty to go back home.
brown lining? (or whatever the crappy color of the lining is..) he has to hurry up and get better so he can go to the range on Wednesday. With a really beat up foot. for the next three weeks. fun.
Poor guy.. I'll do my best to pamper him the next couple of days.

Running with scissors! I mean... Cutting with scissors!

Ty and I realized today that Josh has never cut with scissors before! So- we got out some construction paper and some good ole' safety scissors and tried it out.
Josh did great, and he was VERY proud of himself, so I took some pictures to document the occasion. :)

Fight The Mustache Power!

Vandals? Anyone?
ahem....

So, there's never a dull moment at the Adams house!
I picked these pretty babies up at Pottery Barn kids today... Josh is having a BLAST with them.

I don't know about you, but to me, this SCREAMS Magnum PI.

Watering the weeds.

Oh the joys of having a backyard!!! (and a hose.)
The last couple days there have been water-wars in the Adams household. Yesterday we played Guns Vs. Hoses (aka: Josh vs. Mom) and Hoses won. Big time. YAY MOM!
Today, Josh got wise and HE wanted the hose... too bad it was dad's turn to play. :)
Please don't pay attention to the weeds.. It's a work in progress, and believe it or not, I'm impressed that the back yard is clear enough to even be back there and make it out alive.

This is right after they both turned on ME! An innocent bystander! Rude.
Then Dad took advantage of having his hands on the hose for once.
And a video, incase you can't imagine how much fun we were having.

Quick trip to Utah, Remembering Grandma Bandley.

Thursday night Tyler got a call from his sister Angie, giving him the news that his Grandma Bandley had just passed away a couple hours earlier. As soon as Tyler's 30 hour shift at work was over, we hopped in the car Friday morning and started driving over to Utah to be with family.
The funeral services were amazing. I've never been to a funeral where they did a better job of really celebrating someones life. I cried through the whole service, just hearing about how fantastic she was. She had such a sense of humor, she was so loving and caring of her family and she loved her husband with everything she had.
Unfortunately the Alzheimer's she had for so many years, took away all the great memories she made in her life. I know now, she has those incredible memories back and is enjoying her life after death with her parents, two brothers and her sister.
This is Grandma and Grandpa Bandley on their wedding day. This picture was on the back of the program. I spent a very long time looking at it on the way back to Colorado. She was so beautiful, and they are so in love.
{picture stolen from Tonya's blog... I hope you don't mind, Tonya!}

Grandpa Bandley, Josh and Tyler
Josh, Tyler and some of the cousins. Tate, Emmalee and Emily.
Family picture. Not sure if this one will make the Christmas card... notice my beautiful sons face.
Me and Ty.
The whole family. This was the first time we were all together in 4 years.

As Tonya said in her blog, it was a sad reason for a fun family reunion. It was so great to have the whole family together.

Yard work.

Tyler and Josh didn't waste any time getting dirty in the front yard. They had a blast picking all the weeds and and here they are lifting the soil so Ty can spread grass seed and fertilizer. Josh was a big help.

My cute husband, working so hard.
After Josh "helped" more, by throwing dirt at the cars and Ty's face, he quickly got a new job. There was a small ant hill in the dirt, and Ty put him to work by picking up all the ants and collecting them in the jar for the tadpoles. Josh thought that job was just as much fun.

So proud, Ty snapped a picture of the front yard after he watered the seeds.
The tadpoles liked the ants. They got big, huh? Since we took this picture, their tails are totally gone and we actually let them go in Evil's house outside. Ty promised me Evil wouldn't hurt them. They're such cute little toads.
Pretty view from our street.

Go ahead, leave a comment!
